The BODY: Intimate Knowledge of Human Anatomy

Functional Yoga/Anatomy: 100hrs

Function means to make useful, to have a purpose. To be useful not attractive. In this segment of the training you will learn how to look at the poses through 14 skeletal segments and 10 muscles groups so that you can modify the pose for any student.

Every pose is bad for somebody. Learn that due to skeletal variation in our bodies some poses will never be attained and need to be altered for our body to receive benefits. Learn to teach people the poses not teach poses to people.

  • Function and Aesthetics: Understand what the difference between them and why its important

  • Anatomy: muscle attachments and their function according to each specific yoga pose

  • Skeletal deviations: explore the concept “EveryBODY is different”  (skeletal anatomy) This will allow you to adapt poses so they are felt and useful for specific individuals.

  • Purpose of pose: In most training you learn how to get into a pose. We will dive under the shape of pose and break down the physical, mental and emotional benefits of common poses learned in a 200hr TT .

  • Target muscles: What is the target muscle group in the pose you are teaching? learn how this will deepen your understanding of the human body and support your students on a deeper level.

  • Hands on Assists: the different forms of assisting and hand-on practice

  • Body Reading:  learn to read individual body alignment to better support the individual

  • Strategic sequencing: for all different styles and types of classes plus “peak poses”

  • Advanced Asana:  breakdown the alignment, function, and purpose of poses.

Yin Yoga Level I & II , Restorative Yoga : 100hrs

Yin Yoga (30hrs): Yin Yoga is a complementary yoga practice to the more dynamic and invigorating yoga styles that are predominant today. In Yin Yoga, postures are held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive ‘stress’ on the deep layers of connective tissue in the body.

MATERIALS COVERED:

  • History of Yin Yoga: 3 principles of yin

  • 7 archetypal Yin pose: Breakdown the 7 archetypal poses that are associated with 10 muscles groups. Plus all the variations of these poses.

  • Target muscle groups: Learn the purpose of the poses within each muscle group. Function over Aestheticism & skeletal deviations.

  • Strategic Sequence: understanding the importance of timing and transitions in yin to create safety and an overall optimal experience of the pose.

 

Restorative Yoga (30hrs): Restorative yoga is a practice that is all about slowing down and tuning in. We will dive into the anatomy of stress and the working of the brain in relation to stress and dis-ease. We will explore the concepts of support using the yoga props to create a release in a variety of poses while utilizing skills in creating an atmosphere that encourages students to let go of mental stress.

  • Restorative yoga and yin yoga: Learn the difference and how to explain it to your students.

  • Props: Learn how to properly use yoga props to support the students' physical body, nervous system, and mind.

  • Relaxation techniques: that can be incorporated into classes including breath-work (pranayama) and meditation.

  • Space Holding: Learn how to leave empty space for down regulation and silence to encourage contemplation.

  • Relaxation techniques: that can be incorporated into classes including breath-work (pranayama) and meditation.

  • Strategic Sequence: for creating safety and optimal relaxation.

 

Yoga Therapy (30hrs): Yoga Therapy training teaches you to use the system of yoga to treat specific conditions. Learn how to identify various imbalances and utilize techniques to bring those aspects into balance. Learn how to make traditional yoga poses therapeutic and assist your student in aligning your mind, body and Soul.

  • Dis-ease & STRESS: Physical and emotional components

  • Body Reading:  find imbalance and support student and self in healing 

  • Script for Poses: for specific physical needs, injuries and stress reduction plus breathing and meditation

  • Hands-on assists and adjustment: to support your clients needs by bringing the body back to alignment

  • Strategic Sequencing: For private or class setting

Philosophy, Meditation, NeuroscULPTing®

Philosophy: a Philosophy study can initiate a conversation with Self and hold you as life tries to pull you off your center. We will break down the most read texts in yoga, look at the teaching and learn to apply them to your life and as an offering to your students.

MATERIALS COVERED:

  • Philosophy: what is it and why is it important?

  • Discuss in details:  Bhagavad Gita, Yoga sutras, The three Malas, Tattvas, The Rasas, and the myths of the Gods and Goddess.

  • Practical usage: we will deconstruct the teaching so you are able to integrate it in your life and your class.

  • Story telling: the purpose they serve (hero’s journey)

  • Dharma talk and theming: The difference between and how to create both and use in class and in life.

  • Healing through writing: Yoga/writing/healing

Meditation: Did you know we are wired for Self- preservation; meaning the brain is designed to keep us alive at all costs. By studying how the brain functions, you can learn to down regulate your stress response and re-train your brain to create new neuro-pathways; turning limiting beliefs into new life.

  • Demystify meditation: learn how it affects your brain and the benefits of meditation

  • Brain: Anatomy, physiology, and Function (neuroscience)

  • Meditation: examine and experience different forms of meditation like: Traditional Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Japa, Guided meditations, Shamata, Metta, and Loving Kindness.

  • Educate: learn how to teach meditation to others in a simple easy to grasp way.

Neurosculpting®: Neurosculpting® is a cutting-edge modality integrating mindfulness and neuroscience into a simple five-step whole brain approach to heal trauma, rewrite limiting beliefs, and find wholeness. This course is our core immersion consisting of sixteen hours of instruction on the How and Why of Neurosculpting®.  It’s a comprehensive dive into the theory, practices and daily application of this modality. Students take this immersion to create deep and lasting transformation, and many use it to fulfill one of the core prerequisites to eventually go on to our certification program.

Did you know we are made of energy? Our atoms spin creating loops and spirals that emanates an energy field. Learn the Subtle Body energy field, how this field collects and gathers information, how to clear them and also how to create an energy that is supportive for your system and your students.

  • Subtle layers: learn how to affect these layers of the human body through asana, meditation, and energy work

  • Pranayama: Learn how to use breathing to affect the system. breathing exercises and techniques like: alternative nostril breathing, fire breath and more.

  • Reiki I certification: you will receive Level I Reiki Certification
